A&E Channel’s Detective drama “The Beast” is not faring too well in the ratings, six shows into the season.
”The Beast” (2.4 million, 0.8 adults 18-49 rating) was down 20% in the adult demo from the network’s last scripted premiere, July’s “The Cleaner.”
Compared to the most recent premiere of its lead-in “The First 48,” “Beast” was down 27% in the demo. Still, “Beast” matched the total viewers of last night’s “First 48.”
FBI agent Charles Barker has that “screw you” attitude, while his partner gives begrudging approval with lines like ”He gets the job done.” His brash attitude reminds us of Clint Eastwood’s dirty harry, Denzel Washington’s character in Training Day, and even Charles Bronson’s Death Wish movie series.
