1- Setups

1.1 Basic Setup
This is the base of all successful setups known so far. Every plant has to be in this exact position, except for the melons which are highly recommended to have at least 1 in every row, not necessarily in this exact position.

1.2 Variations
There are many variations of this setup, they vary somewhat based on gameplay style and what difficulties the player finds.

1.2.1 Iamsooty’s setup
The first successful setup to appear around steam’s forum. Most of the others were based on it.
Made it to flag: 100 (apparently he got bored after it)
Disadvantages:

  • Nothing to deal with balloon zombies. When they come you’ll need 1 slot for the blover.
  • Nothing to deal with bungee zombies. When they come you need to waste one of your precious cob shots.
  • Small amount of cobs. It may work until flag 100, but you start needing more cobs (8 instead of 6) later on.

1.2.2 Sven The Slayer’s setup
An upgraded version of Iamsooty’s.
Made it to flag: 220 (as far as I know)
Advantages:

  • No need to carry the blover all the time.
  • More cobs than Iamsooty’s.

Disadvantage:

  • Still quite vulnerable to bungees and catapults.

1.2.3 Proz’s Setup
Made it to flag: 320+ (still doing well)
Advantages:

  • No problems with catapults anymore.
  • Gold magnets pick most of the coins for you.
  • Bungees are less of a problem, but may still annoy some times.

Disadvantage:

  • Small sun income in case of nasty surprises (such as jack in the boxes going mad)

1.2.4 Taikanatur’s setup

Made it to flag: 500+ (still doing well)
Advantages:

  • Bungees are a thing of the past, just ignore them.
  • Enough sun for any accidents that may happen.

Disadvantages:

  • Nothing to pick up coins (not recommended if you still need gold).
  • Top and bottom lanes are quite vulnerable and highly dependent on precise cob shooting.

2- Questions & Answers
This section is to answer the most common questions around. More to come ^^

Q: What happens at wave 100 (or 200, 300,…)?
A: Unfortunately, nothing especial. Its just another wave. Maybe they never thought someone would make it that far?

Q: Does it keep getting harder at later waves?
A: Yes, thus the name endless. The amount of creeps keeps getting higher and higher. Pumpkins start to require more maintenance. If something touches your defenses they go down pretty quick, because of the high amount of monsters packed together. However, if everything is going well, your cobs should take everything down pretty quick.

Q: What should I bring with me after everything has been set up?
A: Unless you are replacing something, I would recommend you to always bring the same hand, no matter what is the wave:
Pumpkin, Imitator pumpkin, spikeweed, spikerock, jalapeno, squash, cherry bomb, kernel-pult, cob cannon, sunflower.

Q: Is there a video to help me build the same setup?

A: Yes, there are many videos on YouTube and all over the Internet. I recommend you to check this one by Proz or this one by Iamsooty.
