When you first start Mafia Wars you have the option of fearless, maniac, and mogul. You can only choose one and you can’t change it after. Moguls get more wealth, Maniacs get more energy, Fearless get more health
Greedy people like me think choosing Mogul matters. After many levels, like 40, having too much money won’t matter in this game! It made me regret not choosing Maniac. So you newbie, choose Maniac! Too bad you can’t change your option afterwards.
There are also no cheats anymore for Mafia Wars. All cheat engine, cheat script for mafia wars were patched up and fixed late last year. Why play if you’re only going to cheat anyway?

Increasing your family size through surveys
Goto gmail and create a bs email account. Link said account to your facebook. Then goto the Godfather page and do a bunch of those free, fill out this survey and we give you points crap. They will spam the ever living hell out of your email but its a write-off gmail account so who cares? Takes some time and I’ve filled out 20 of the things and only gotten credit for 6 of them so far. But those 6 gave me 158 Godfather points. And 20 points buys you 3-5 family members depending on the day.
Increasing your family size through Add Me Forums
There are a lot of facebook forums for Mafia Wars that have threads where many players just say Add Me. Just join the group, leave an Add Me message every now and then. You could also scroll through the list of people who want to be added and add them yourself.
This will not necessarily mess up your friend list, because unlike some other games, Adding friend XXX in your friend list in facebook, then adding him in Mafia wars mob, then deleting him from your friendlist in FB will still leave him counted as one of your mafia members.
So the steps would be:
- join list of Mafia Wars Facebook groups here
- when joining each group only once, type add me in the chat window
- add other strangers on your list
- confirm other strangers who added you to their list
- add each other to your mafias
- delete stranger from facebook friendlist
It may sound strange, that each stranger friend added and deleted would take you an average of five clicks. So adding 501 friends would actually make you click 2,505 times! Losers! 
Fighting
Always fight people with a smaller mafia and a subordinate title.
When you get your ass kicked multiple times, spend $10k and put a hit out on the guy who just kicked your ass.
When you find someone that you can hit hard, keep hitting them, you get credit for “taking someone out”
Properties
Buying properties require the most important thing. Money. If you’re a mogul, you’ll have all the money in the world even before you reach level 50. As always, try to get more mafia members so you can get more Mafia Mikes which cost no upkeep.
(Building cost+Lot cost)/(Property revenue+Lot revenue)= Cost per revenue dollar. Buy the lowest cost building regardless of what level of revenue it puts out.
Always keep your properties repaired and protected!!!!
Profile Points
You get 1 point per job mastered.
You get 5 points per level up.
Some Stragies:
a) Allocating points effectively seems to be the #1 question mafia players are asking. Here is gamersninja’s strategy on the subject.
For the first 10 levels allocate all your points to energy. This will enable you to do more jobs and level faster as well as earn a decent amount of money.
For levels 10 and above allocate the point you get for completing a job to your energy. Allocate the points you get from gaining a level evenly to your attack, defense, energy, and stamina. Leave your health alone – it would be a waste of a valuable point. Any left over points you have after distributing them evenly to your attack, defense, energy, and stamina should always go to energy.
b)build up your mafia quickly or people will tend to attack you and you will lose money and loot. (See increasing your family through mafia wars forum above)
c)your experience will add quickly and automatically the more mafia you have. You can bring only 501 mafia members to the fight, but you can add as much as you’d like, thus increasing the chances of other mafia members bringing you to their capers and automatically racking up your XP!
d) one car one ammo one armor pero mob member rule. What your mafia member has in his inventory stays there. When he is in your mafia, he is technically using your equipment. So if you have 500 mafia members, make sure you have 500 of the topmost best weapon, 500 of the topmost best vehicle, and so on.
e)At early levels, keep on adding energy. near level 100, add more stamina. Energy is needed for XP or experience points and you need that to level up. But as you near level 90 or 100, you will find that the big huge 400+ energy points you’ve accumulated takes too long to recharge and you spend most of your time waiting. By that time, you must slowly add to your stamina so that you can spend the energy waiting time to fight off some guys. Remember that as your energy waits a long time, your stamina which was normally much smaller, would have took many rounds of full charge so you could take advantage of this.
f)use your energy pack wisely. Always use your energy pack when your main energy level is depleted already, this way you can take advantage of its complete amount. Also DON’T use your energy pack if your experience level requirement is so near the completion point. This means that if you’re in for example level 113, and 81,190 xp level, and the amount needed to go to next level is 81225, don’t use your energy pack! It is better to wait for that energy level to recharge some, or just fight to get those extra points to get to the next level. That way, you can use your energy pack for situations where your xp level is far from completion to next leve. (for the latter example, if your level is 113, and youve used up your regular energy, and your level is 79900, and amount needed to get to next level is 81225, then by all means, use the energy pack because it’s far off)!
g)create many other facebook accounts with mafia wars accounts. this will come in handy in Capo levels 25-34, and onwards, where your job will require you to keep on having: untraceable cell phone, illegal transaction records, blackmail photos, all of which can’t be bought.
You can use your 2nd and 3rd account of your family or relative member (or even a newly created one just for fun) just to build up that other character, to eventually repeatedly do the jobs that need the required items discussed above. Your gained items can now be GIFTED to your other original account, and will save you time.
This is not really cheating and is a way around the silly obstacle of mafia wars

No. It is not. If you already have an existing mafia wars facebook or myspace account, don’t install the zynga app, it’s a waste of time. Your account level achievements won’t be credited. It is a new startover.
